Is nature reclaiming the earth in the time of Covid 19?
Well yes. Covid 19, pandemic is a stark reminder of our dysfunctional relationship with nature. Nature is full of bounties. It gives, it protects, it cares and it rejuvenates also. The wheel of time is moving continuously and the world is also changing with it. Today is the time of modernization, industrialisation and sophistication. We're growing with the time. Right now we own modern transportation systems, we own lavish mansions, our life is now enriched with full of advancements and comforts. Lemme take you to a roller coaster ride. Earlier we have pigeons as means of communication and now probably smarter pigeons aka smartphones, travelling from one city to another takes nearly 2-3 days but now believe me or not every single street has a travel blogger sitting on a couch to get rid of this lockdown. Smartphones, Airplanes, Mansions, Limousines, Audi, Top floor-Penthouse, Farmhouse yada yada.
So how can it be possible? The main question is this, Right. Well the human brain can do anything and all we know is necessity is the mother of inventions. Inventions happen and greed arises. C'mon we're familiar with the definition of Sustainable development which we have studied in class 7 probably in Science books that this mother earth, we have borrowed from our future generations. We do not have to ruin it. But wait what are we doing actually? Do you find this annoying too that:
BMC's notification to clean the patch of Aarey forest area in order to construct parking condominiums. The approval for cutting down the trees was given by the Tree Authority. The Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation (MMRC) had approached the Tree Authority to seek permission for felling the trees to make way for a car shed which is a part of the Mumbai Metro project.
Is it a justified step?
Obviously No, but how and where to accommodate the recklessly growing population's transportation system. This is not the sole example that in what manner we're actually ruining our nature.
Hey can we do a carpool? Is the most silliest question which appears to us when somebody asks for carpooling. Because it smashes our fake standard of being extravagant corporate. Also it gives more modest sarcasm to the car which we've brought on EMIs! Huh, A question to one's ego. Have I brought that as a showpiece at the garage? No, not like that but definitely mother nature isn't standing straight as a mannequin for long and seeing us all doing discrimination to her nature. This is the high time to heal. Explicitly or Implicitly our planet needs proper healing. Healing is term which invokes some greater deep meanings, for instance let's take definition of healing through our neurons to processing unit of human body i.e. Brain. Healing according to Oxford Dictionary, /ˈhiːlɪŋ/ [uncountable] is the process of becoming or making somebody/something healthy again; the process of getting better after an emotional shock. Emotional shock, betterment, healthy again, process, getting better are some absolute keywords which are constantly banging in your mind and you're right now asking a question from your that what colossal have you done to someone that it needs this much amount of healing to get better. Acceptance is the only key which can make you feel conscious about your deeds. Definitely you're totally unaware in what sense you're charming mother earth. But it's high time to get rid of those scars. Covid-19 phase commences with thread of Lockdown 1.0, 2.0, 3.0 and 4.0 with some relaxations. In these lockdowns. Our Nature has revived a lot. Whether it's Seldom species of fauna on busy streets or it's pollutants decrement all are favoring the healing process. Now, have a look at beautiful texts:
Jalandhar and Saharanpur Residents get views of Himalayas this is Due to less vehicular passes pollution level reduced and air gets clear. Pollution levels were decreasing, clear blue skies and empty roads had become rarest of rare in Delhi. But now it's there. AQI i.e. Air quality index is improved of national capital. The Ozone layer is getting replenished. We've been aware of the fact that the ozone layer got a hole which let UV rays penetrate to earth's atmosphere. But now it's in the repair process.
Nilgai, Leopards on the street of the cities. Sambhar appeared in Chandigarh lanes, Rhinoceros in Sonapur | Guwahati, peacocks in Coimbatore and Oliver Ridley Turtles back for laying eggs in Orissa. Isn't this amazing? Ganges water becomes sparkling clear. Industrial effluents getting poured in Ganges river for a long time had created a mess. The Ganges had got mystical properties which is. Eloping due to water pollution. Now it's gaining them back. Flamingos flocking in Mumbai. The covid-19 had brought sudden changes in order with global perspective: Venice Canals got clear water. In Poland deer spotted Wild turkey in California. Reduction in Fecal Coliform Level had also noticed. Voila! Aren't the text written above gives you a sense of contentment and satisfaction? These above quoted lines had filled a next level energy to my nerves. Being raised as a concerned citizen who bothers about nature this gives a certain feel of happiness in this pandemic. Since everything has it's positive as well as negative effects. We all know that lockdown is not good for the economy, for the country, or for all of us. But if you're a marathoner, these hurdles give you more momentum.
