According to the internet, family is all the descendants of a common ancestor, but this line is not enough to define what exactly a family is. Everyone has their own view of family, and so do I.
Family is not just the people you grow with but the people who support you in every phase of life no matter good or bad. You work hard and put in every effort you can to keep someone safe and happy, they mean the world to you, their smile motivates you to work harder and gives you a whole lot of satisfaction. We can be far in terms of distance but never from the heart, falling asleep well at night imagining in mind their faces with smiles, that’s what family is. It is not just the people with whom you have been since birth but could also be those with whom you crossed paths throughout life who ended up making a lifelong impact on you and grew really close to your heart.
You know you can rely on them even when life hits so hard that all hope starts washing away. You know there is someone who will hold you and make sure everything turns out not only okay but superb. It’s a heart-to-heart connection, understanding even before verbally told that something is not right. The feeling of trust and being real whenever you are together is family. Just a smile from them makes your heart ride the seventh cloud, not thinking twice before doing anything for them, to keep them safe and secure and taking small responsibilities, growing mature together, also fighting but at the end of the day solving all problems together is family. Friends who make our day exciting even during the hardest time they stay with us holding our back, they are family.
Sharing every matter from small things to the deepest feelings, from growing together to helping each other grow, from learning to teaching each other, from small arguments to fighting for each other that is what family do and would always continue to do so no matter what, waiting with all the patience for each other and tolerating all the drama just to be with them is family. Nothing in this universe can provide a proper definition to family, maybe it’s just a feeling and above all this it’s the biggest reason why we fight everything and go through so much so that we can be with them, make them happy. There are days when we fight really badly, we cry but no matter how messy things get we never give up on each other even at the worst times, nothing else matters above them, you just love selflessly with all your heart and can do anything for them. Their problems are yours, so is their pain, if they suffer you suffer more and you can tell how they are feeling just by looking at their text or face, you know them better than themselves and all the tricks that can cure them. Maybe for some families it only stands for responsibilities and lifelong burdens. It's up to an individual how he sees things and there is a very beautiful untold journey while completing all these responsibilities. Family not only gives us a hope to live but to live life with a mission and clear mindset, it is something which motives us at every point to try our best and give more and never give up, it would be wrong to say that we always like this surely, we don’t, everyone at some point gets frustrated and just want to throw away everything, the reason is getting tired but that never lasts long it is common to get tired but it’s the love that never allows us to give up. The most important thing is love without love everything is just a so-called burden and life-long irritating responsibility, it’s important that love never fades away and for that understanding each other is best thing to do, things would get messy but analyzing and accepting the fault and apologizing is the best that can be done, family is not always a happy world it is what we make it and how we maintain that. 
Every person has its own role to play and the main task is to play it with full enthusiasm and peace. My other understanding of family is peace, something that provides us peace even when the whole universe is falling apart. Maintaining this peace is a whole new level of challenge and again love makes it so easy to achieve. 
Family never lets you down and even if it does, they help you stand again even with more power, a power so high that can make you achieve everything and when you have family standing by your side which it always does you can achieve every goal and dream, make the best along with enjoying every step of the journey. Family is important but  more important thing is how we maintain it and how much efforts are we willing to put in this, it doesn’t work when only one person in putting all the efforts everyone should put even more efforts, this way the power gets double and love becomes stronger, another thing is getting happy in each other’s happiness and never letting ego comes in our way, it’s their smile and laugh that means heaven to you and doing every possible thing to constantly maintain that laugh is the real joy.
Family is far above and unbound to anything, if we conclude in simple words family is your happy place where you are free to be yourself with all the peace and it is those people whose smiling faces are the reason that you sleep well at night. Family could be a single person or group of people, it could even be your pet, it’s what provides you peace and can rely on even in the worst situation. Family is the reason that makes you want to work harder and achieve everything and enjoy that altogether.
